This week Citi has launched a brand new secured credit card, for those with poor or limited credit. Citi Mastercard Secure allows people with credit problems (or no credit history at all) get a card that can help them rebuild their credit by sending monthly updates on their account the major credit bureaus. This means that, by making payments on time to your monthly bill, you can begin building and repairing your credit as your payment history. As a secured card, you must make a minimum deposit of $ 200 (maximum $ 5,000). The amount of your deposit will be equal to the credit limit on the card, so if you are approved for the card and then make a deposit of $ 300, you will be able to shop for $ 300. The card has an annual fee of $ 25, you will be charged in your first monthly statement. Twenty-five dollars a year is a decent rate for a secured card, but if you are looking for a no annual fee take a look at the Capital One Secured Mastercard.
