What this test tells us
Ancestry offers a kind of test: an autosomal DNA test, which is available for men and women. Ancestry results were the simplest and easiest to decipher between the different DNA tests we made. Once we have received email notification that our results were posted and were ready to see us connected to our account to see what was found. Our home page shows an overview of our estimate of ethnicity (with a pie chart and percentages) and our possible matches in the Ancestry database (with both boards of common ancestors linked to family trees and how we can be related, for example fourth cousin).
What this test shows our ethnicity?
When we clicked our estimate of full ethnicity, we were introduced to the region as a whole (eg, Europe) and a breakdown of countries of this region percentages (eg , Great Britain). The four regions it is established that the highest percentages were: Great Britain, Scandinavia, Ireland and Italy / Greece. We also presented with an interactive map, which allowed us to zoom in on specific areas where we have clicked on one of the countries of this distribution. Below this map, we have also seen how we compared to "native" typical of this country, other regions commonly seen in people from this country and a brief history of this country. We could see this information from all countries, to be a match with our DNA.
How many "games" he found?
When we came to our results, it was only found a match as a relative potential, and since we had opted to allow others to contact us, we had a message waiting in our box receiving a distant cousin possible. In a few weeks he found more matches in the database, who were all members with Ancestry family trees online that either had an ancestry "hint" in common with us, or a family member he found both in our family tree and their family tree.

What does the test tell us?
MyHeritage has many different DNA tests to choose from, some of which are for men only (Y-DNA tests) and others are for women only (mtDNA tests). We took the test Family Finder + mtDNAPlus Combo, which traces and finds matches in your direct maternal line; the Family Finder test traces of these six generations, both your paternal and maternal by partnering with potential parents in the database. These results were a little harder to understand, but they were much more detailed than one ancestry DNA test.
What this test reveal our ethnicity?
The part Ancestral Origins MyHeritage Family Tree DNA breaks your ethnicity by HVR matches or hypervariable regions. For this reason, the results of many different places, indicating that we had one of the most common results of haplotypes for our haplogroup (which was haplogroup H in major parts of Europe). If we used the complete mtDNA genome sequence provided with the service, which costs an extra, it would have reduced the number of potential places of origins. But just because we made the mtDNA test and Family Finder, we had many countries through research. The countries listed the game total and the percentage is. Our first four percentages were Morocco, Portugal, France and England.
How many "matches" she find?
As the number of countries which corresponds to us, it also found many potential related games. We had some notifications of potential members of the family when our results were first ready to be seen, and still received several emails over a few weeks to let us know that more matches were found. The main drawback here is that there is no clear way to tell if your matches are correct or not, as some members have signed for several premium plans, while others use only the most basic - a plan that does not allow you to build a family tree.
AncestryDNA vs. MyHeritage Family Tree DNA: How the results compare
The results between the two varied somewhat. With AncestryDNA, with four regions with the highest percentages were Great Britain, Scandinavia, Ireland and Italy / Greece, whereas with MyHeritage Family Tree DNA, they were Morocco, Portugal, France and England. Ancestry notes that Britain mainly England (also found with MyHeritage), Scotland and Wales and means that similar DNA is also found in Ireland, France, Italy and some other countries. Thus, countries that both Ancestry and MyHeritage have found similarities with England were, in France and Italy. Ancestry also grouped into Spain and Portugal, which was one of the games with MyHeritage under Italy / Greece, although the percentages for Italy / Greece ancestry were rather weak in comparison. Scandinavia was the one who found and Ancestry MyHeritage not. Similarly, while Morocco and Portugal had high percentages of MyHeritage, Morocco does not show with ancestry at all.
Overall, he found some similarities, but there were some countries who came on one and not the other. We concluded that to get the most accurate results with DNA testing, it's a good idea to try a few different ones to learn as much as you can about the past of your family and where you come from.
